The chip wagon that started it all! We've been going to this chip wagon since I was little, it first started on the main drag of Athens but as of a couple of years ago it has moved up by the community centre/arena. Ive always said it isn't summer until we make that first stop of the year (even if you visit when there's snow on the ground.. its officially summer) This chip wagon is always busy and for great reason, especially when they've been in business since 1979!. Amazing employees that have incredible memories of regulars and/or orders (lol) and of course delicious food AND their fries are fresh cut! They literally have a shed in behind the truck with bags of potatoes and already peeled.
Review: Usual order is a hot dog and a small poutine. Odd time I will get an order of fries with butter. Overall rating of this chip wagon 10/10
Hot Dog: Hot dog is your standard size hot dog you would find anywhere. Not overly cooked but has that great crunch when you bite into it. They even toast the hot dog bun a bit.
Small Poutine/fries: As stated above they use fresh peeled potatoes to make their fries. The fries are super crispy, the cheese curds they use in the poutine are good fair size pieces and put throughout the container. The gravy tastes like standard beef gravy, not overly salty, pairs perfectly with everything. *if you get an order of fries with butter.. oh my goodness, you get a great amount for the portion they give you. Butter is usually coming out the bag and when you get to the bottom of the container, fries are just floating in the butter.
