Doing something a little different with this post. Normally I like to review and put food trucks and small businesses on display but I feel like this place needs a post as well. Yes it isn't a restaurant BUT every other Friday of every month the Smiths Falls Legion Branch 95 puts on a Fish & Chip dinner from 4-7. They have a 50/50 raffle each meal, normally 2 draws - one for the prize pot and another for a free fish dinner. They also do Catch the Ace, they have the bar open for drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) You can even call in and order meals for take out as well if you don't want to dine in.
Review: Easy review, they only have Fish & Chips. Each plate includes fries, a piece of fish, with a lemon slice and a side of coleslaw. The fries I love, they have a little crunchy coating on it making them very crisp. The batter on the fish isn't thick at all, it's nice and light, although I do find depending on the night sometimes the batter is a bit greasy. Another side note - I do like the coleslaw but by going to these I'm finding most nights it changes, not finding consistency in it - but don't get me wrong it is always delicious. 8.5/10
